The DMCA or Digital Millennium Copyright Act, was in the law of President Bill Clinton signed in October 28th 1998. It 'a U.S. law that protects the copyright on the Internet. The radio industry is to pay at the stations of a musician or a band royalties if they play their music on their computers. This led to a major industry attention because in traditional and online radio programs pay period were collected in different ways what they had licensing costs.

One reason forDMCA was signed into law was the fact that the Internet was largely influenced by the music industry, and in some ways hindered. Record sales for bands and musicians were reduced by large amounts, because people were downloading music from the Internet for free. A lot of shippers were down illegal file sharing, so there was no need to go and buy more CDs. Music online sites and radio could stream music for free.

Because ofPopularity at the end of 1990 there was increasing amount of media attention and investment in the online music sector. Music and radio companies did a lot of money online and musicians made less. The stock levels online radio specific sites were twice the value. Bands and musicians were really the suffering in this period because most of its revenue was a record sale, especially if moving.

One ofDisputes of the DMCA was the injustice of what was to pay royalties. One possibility own Internet radio was concerned that they too had to pay a fee, not traditional radio stations that I have. Programs Internet radio should pay royalties and publishing royalties. The price of loyalty are very expensive and involved small-run independent radio sites online. The big companies can make the payment easy, but other companies have beenWere at risk business.

Because of the difficult to pay royalties, music sites, music streaming, the fee for their listeners to unite to oppose high. They had a silent protest and not streaming all the music for a whole day. Because of the persistence of Internet radio stations, the law was revised. The law now requires that the fees are now based on Revenue station of the Internet, and if not for a flat fee for royalties.

AlsoDMCA was passed to it, are radio stations continue to prosper and grow their online business. Radio programs on the Internet to do a lot of different groups of people. You can listen to music of all kinds globe and find specific stations.
